Hyderabad Metro Connects - 2014
L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad) Limited (LTMRHL) and Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited along with The Atlanta Foundation (TAF) supported by Hyderabad Bicycling Club (HBC) organised Hyderabad Metro Connects 2014 – a celebration of two most popular eco-friendly commutes – Cycling & Metro Rail!
The event will cover the 3 Metro Rail Corridors - Red Line, Green Line & Blue Line in 3 editions. This, the second ride of the series was HYDERABAD METRO CONNECTS - RED EDITION, marking the colour of the HMR Corridor I.
Over 3000 enthusiastic riders participated in the massive community cycling ride across the HMR Corridor I – Miyapur to L B Nagar (RED LINE).
The event was flagged off by Ms. P V Sindhu, renowned Badminton player and first ever Indian woman to win a singles medal at the World Championships. Other dignitaries who flagged off were Mr. V B Gadgil, CE & MD, L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad) Limited,Mr. NVS Reddy, Managing Director, HMRL.
The riders included corporate employees, students and citizens of Hyderabad. The event started with much fanfare at HMR Miyapur Depot. The ride culminated at L B Nagar Indoor Stadium, Hyderabad with a grand felicitation ceremony for all the riders.
